Josie Winship, Artist

Biography

Josie Winship is a local Seward Community artist. She's lived in that Minneapolis neighborhood since 1974. She has been known to create ceramics, recycled & found object structures, poetry, video and singing with her autoharp and performance art (as Ms. Scrappy at the King's Fair). She does art residencies at schools and has held art camps out of her studio for the past twelve years. She is a firm believer that all people are born naturally creative, and that many of the world's problems could be solved if we didn't close the doors to our imaginations.

Education

Josie Winship attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Metropolitan State University. She is a multimedia artist, video maker, a poet, singer, and installation/performance artist.
